Home | Fan Fiction | Original Writing | Competitions | Authors | Forum | RPG | GuestBook | Contact Guild Hello and welcome to The Writers Guild. This site was set up to house a range of fiction works - both original and fan-based stories. This is a non-profit site, and the only reward I get is the pleasure of putting all these wonderful stories up. If you become an author, please follow the rules on how to submit a fiction carefully. If you don't, it takes me hours to fix your individual stories, and frankly I don't have the time. Any further questions can be answered in the Frequently Asked Questions section. Please, feel free to look around and enjoy your stay! A huge thanks to Beth, who created the majority of the graphics for this site. | ||||

Q. How do I get an author profile on this site? A. Submit your details to the Guild and your profile page will be created as quickly as possible. Include the fiction you wish to submit in separate word documents, formatted how you wish it to be presented on the page. At the top of the document, please include these details. Title: Word Count: Rating: Summary: Genre:
Q. How do I pick a genre? A. Genre is used to categorize the fiction archive so that it is easier to find specific types of stories. A good hint is check the archive you're submitting too and see if there is a genre that fits your story. If you cannot find the correct genre, one can be made to suit your story.
A. Use your own judgement. Obviously, if there is a lot of swearing or violence in your story then rate it accordingly. Ratings are as follows. U - Suitable for all ages NC-13 - Guidance required for mild swearing, mild sexual content and mild violence NC-17 - Contains swearing, sexual content or violence that is not suitable for persons under 17
Q. I have a fiction I want to submit but it's not on the list in the archive section. Can I still submit it? A. Simple answer to that is yes. You can request a section is made to house you fiction.
Q. I've just written a new story. Can I update my author page? A. Sure. Just send across any new work and it can be submitted and your author page can be updated to keep up with your own growing archive.
Q. Can I submit works in progress? A. No. All fiction submitted must be completed.
Q. Can I link my author page/fictions to off site? A. Yes. I know a lot of writing forums won't allow you to link to fanfiction.net, and ask that you have an off-site page either on Live Journal or something similar. This site allows you to link your work off-site without having to navigate those other sites or make your own webpage.
Q. I already own my own website, but I want to put my stories in the archive on the Guild. Can I use my website to do this? A. Yes. Providing your site is not fanfiction.net or livejournal, I can link your own website through the Guild. What this means is that you can still be in the archives, but you can keep your own personal site going.
Q. I run my own website. How do I become affiliated with this site? A. Send your details over and I'll add your page to the links section. The more the merrier.
Q. I only write drabbles or one-shots. Can I still have an author profile? A. Drabbles can be submitted, as can shorter fictions.
Q. Do I have to be a writer to join the forum? A. No. The forum has lots of other stuff going on and everyone is welcome. Writing is only one part of what the Guild is about. A huge chunk of it is insane, nonsensical rambling.
Once you have contacted the Guild, the instructions are simple. Please follow them carefully. Fictions submitted in the wrong format will be sent back.
