“Dad, can I? Please?”

“No.” Sam pouted at his father’s refusal.

“But daaad.” John cringed. He hated when his youngest son whined.

“Sammy, I said no.”

Sam turned to Dean – hoping for a little assistance in his argument – but all he received was a hopeless half shrug and a questioning look.

Already annoyed and now slightly confused by his big brother’s puzzled expression Sam huffed out an exasperated “What?”

“I was just wondering… What do we need a puppy for when we’ve already got you?”

John’s snort of amusement and the slam of their bedroom door was the only reply.
